Man, I'm sorry... I have no idea how the oil leaked out of your car, but I
guarantee that you shot your rod bearings. That's what the clicking noise
is. That car is no longer driveable. You at the very least have to change
out your rod bearings and hope to God that you didn't score your crankshaft.
If you did, you'll have to get a new engine... also, you may have warped the
heads, and your head gaskets are most likely shot from the heat. Did you
have your IAB changed after the oil? If so, get in contact with the people
that did it and see if they might be able to explain anything...

best of luck to you, bro. Sad to see another SHO die... especially one so
critically depended on.

Jason

I think I've done something really bad. :(

Just less than a week ago, I got my bad IAB valve replaced, and my '93 has
been running beautifully. I do mostly short-distance (less than 2-3 miles
per day) city driving to/from work and school, but yesterday, I had to meet
my family about 30 miles down the interstate.

Halfway there, I stalled -- had to pull over to the side of the road. As I
came to a stop, there was white smoke coming from under the hood and a
burnt smell permeated the car. The engine was hot, hot, hot. Once it
cooled down for a bit, I checked the engine oil -- bone dry. I added 3
quarts and was able to make it back home, but there is a constant clicking
sound coming from the engine, and it's otherwise noisy and just not
producing any power without a lot of loud complaining. It sounds and feels
awful to drive.

I don't understand how this could happen. I've NEVER had any problem with
this car leaking or burning any oil, and I just had an oil change less than
3 weeks ago. How could I have been completely out of oil?

Is it hopeless? Worst-case scenerio, what kind of damage have I
done. Best-case? Arghh.. I just want to cry. I rely on this car very
heavily.

Help!
