You might want to personally investigate if there's anything loose like
the drain plug or the oil filter.  If you've never been under your car,
invest in a floor jack and some stands and start looking.

About the IAB, it would be tough to mess this up.  Do you know if the
mechanic removed the intake to replace the part?
