Addendum to the above:
All this assmues you first pull the pan and see how bad the damage is!
1) are the bearings worn? (replace)
2) is the crank scored? (pull crank & regrind)
3) did the bearings disintegrate and scatter material all thruout the
engine? (pull engine)
You'll never know unless you look.
A bearing set could get popped in for as little as $100
