When I've stripped allen heads I've had mixed sucess
with tapping on the next largest size key on a socket
attached to a ratchet. (ie, one of those allen
sockets). I use the word "tapping" lightly as it
usually required a lot of smashing with a hammer.
I think this is sort of what John was recommending.
I think allen heads, torx and all other mutant shaped
heads were placed on earth to make our lives
miserable.
