Maybe not.....

Static weight for the front corners of a Gen 1 is 950 pounds.  I know, because I had
some springs made with a certain amount of compression at that weight.

You have to consider shock forces that may act on the tires at anytime during your
drive....if you go over a large rift or expansion joint in a freeway at speed, you
may be putting 2, maybe 2.5 times the force of gravity on that tire at that instant.
 You won't feel that much of a shock in the cabin, because the spring and strut take
the force....that's what they are for.  But the tire is the first defense you have
against a rough or pot holed road.....and it has no help from anything.  A tire with
only 20% more than static load capaicty is VERY dangerous.
