[Shotimes] Update: Rookie Timing Belt Question

I am going to say that is pretty unlikely, but more likely is when you
put it back together you possibly missed a connector, like a DIS
connector or something. It seems to me that it is an ignition
problem. Even if the timong is off it would backfire, pop, and make
all kinds of other cool noises. If it just sits and cranks, I have to
wonder if there is no ignition going on.
Also, don't know if you changed the plug wires, but it is easy to get
them on wrong. I have seen a car that sat for 2 years (needed a
clutch) fire right up and run descent, my inclination would be to
check out ignition issues. Check for spark, go from there.
