I like my Pro-M MAF (calibrated for the SHO). But it's
not necessarily the best bang for the buck even though
I got it used. If you have your heart set on replacing
your 73mm MAF, I'd wait for someone to sell what you
really want. Check shoforum classifieds; they come up
for sale somewhat frequently. If not, I'd save your
money.
I've come to the conclusion that it's not worth doing
something to the SHO (or anything really) if you
personally feel you are not doing it as well as you
could. I've also learned that modifying SHO's really
doesn't seem worthwhile in the grand scheme of things
but unfortunately it's an addiction that people our
age can easily fall into. ;)
re: your previous message concerning MAF's from other
cars. The Mk8 MAF is the Ford 80mm unit which is not
calibrated for the SHO's PCM or injectors. A lot of
people use it with an LPM (to "correct" it) but many
feel that it's not an optimal setup either. The 70mm
MAF is a Mustang Cobra MAF that Doug Lewis of FPS was
selling awhile back.
FWIW-If I ever had to do anything over again with the
SHO, I'd do things a lot differently. That includes
countless hours, time and money that I spent on
different mods, including MAF's. Then again if I had
to do things over again, I probably wouldn't be on
this list. :)
