[Shotimes] Question about swapping engines

Dave,
Another place to look for noise that isn't a problem is the
secondary cam chain tensioner. It has long been known that
these can sometimes make a ticking noise. sometimes
replacing the chain and tensioner will help, but most times
it does not.
That noise won't be a problem, but do an inspection anyway.
When I replaced my tensioner at 140,000 miles, there was
ZERO wear on it, and the new tensioner, though of a
different color and design for the pad, didn't make any
difference.
Make sure you don't have a cam lobe going flat, or a shim
wearing prematurely.
