Well, a month after buying my 92, I finally have it back home. I just got back to Atlanta yesterday after driving it down from Massachusetts--first thing I did when I got her unpacked was to take her to a carwash to get all of the nasty salt of her.

A few comments: First off, I was very impressed with the gas mileage (26-28), which was as good or better than my 1.6 Miata gets on the highway! Also, the power and sound of the motor is amazing considering how much the car is worth. I was very impressed with the sound quality of the factory stereo, too.

Now I have a few questions for you guys:

1. Where is a good place to buy some new e-brake cables (mine are sticking pretty bad) Autozone? Dealer? Online?

2. Has anyone ever experienced a sticky speedo? I noticed that above 70, the speedo needle is very slow to react to speed changes. After either accelerating or letting off the gas on the highway, the needle will stay in one place for a few seconds and then change to the current speed all at once. Not a huge deal, just something I've never noticed in any other car (even ones with noisy speedo cables).

3. How normal is it to hear some gear whine in a car with 137k on it? On the highway, the wind noise covers it up, but around town with the radio off, I can hear some gear whine. I haven't checked the level yet, but I plan on replacing the fluid soon just to be safe. Is there a good synthetic that'll help make shifting easier? (Sometimes, it takes a second of pressure against the syncros before the shifter will drop into gear).

4. How can I tell when my motor mounts are bad? I noticed that when getting on or off the gas that there are 2 thunks as the drivetrain settles. Is this normal?

5. Is there a way to lube the clutch cable? Mine feels kinda stiff (although this is the first car that I've had in 5 years that didn't have a hydraulic clutch, so that may be my problem).

Thanks in advance and if there's anything that I've asked that is easily answered by a website, my apologies ( I'm still new to the whole online SHO community)

Peter
