You can get them anywhere but the dealer will be the
most expensive. I bought all 4 (including the handle)
cables from Pep Boys, Autozone and someplace online.
That decision was based on price and availabilty but
you could probably find them in one store even if they
need to be special ordered.

Sounds like you have a speedo cable issue. It's common
but I've never replaced one so I'll let someone else
chime in. I have this issue every once in awhile so
I'll probably be replacing mine at some point as well.

gear whine? I wouldn't say it's too normal. I guess it
depends on how loud it is. However, I think you need a
new clutch if you are having problems shifting like
you describe. If you have the stock differential, I
recommend using Mobil 1 synthetic ATF. I never liked
the Mobil 1 but it may help prolong the life of the
factory differential. I went back to straight
Mercron/dextron III with the Quaife and I prefer it.

Sounds like you have bad mounts. Pop the hood and
release the clutch and drive around your driveway in
1st and reverse. You'll probably see excessive engine
movement. Also check for any shiny polished spots on
the intake manifold that indicate that the manifold
has been rubbing against the hood liner (from bad
mounts)

If you replace the clutch or rebuild the trans, you
can clean up the TOB carrier and swivel assebmly. This
will feel ok but it will stiffen up over time.
However, if it's really stiff, (and based on what you
said about shifting) I think you need a clutch. :)

anytime! That's what most of us are here for (to
help).
