[Shotimes] my clutch!

Ok  so a week or so after getting my starter replaced  I have noticed my clutch makes a grinding noise while engaged and as the days pass it gets harder and harder to shift into 1st gear then 2nd with today making it almost impossible and to the point there i would have to turn the car off shirt into 1st then start back up. I have an appointment to get a clutch adjustment but is it that I just need a new clutch??? It was replaced at 80k miles and now it has 143k on it.. any ideas before I go bankrupt!??!
