New timing belt is in place. Two questions:
>
> 1. Crank pulley. I followed the instructions for removal (slide 19mm
socket on, rest breaker-bar handle on sub-frame, turn key) but I'm wondering
about reinstall. How much torque? Do I have to take measures to keep the
motor from turning?

Definitely make sure it is tight enough. You can use a socket and long
extension through the passenger side fenderwell. I put the car in 5th gear
and had someone sit in the car and push very hard on the brake pedal while I
tightened the bolt. (Obviously only works with an MTX).

> 2. Timing belt tensioner. I've been told....let tensioner swing back
against timing belt, tighten nut, turn motor 2 times, loosen nut and then
retighten. This info was according to distant memory of a helpful v8sho list
member. Does this sound right?

Here is what my manual says:
"Put the engine on TDC for cylinder #1. Line up the timing marks and put on
the belt. Release the tensioner lock nut and leave the nut loose. Install
the lower timing cover and harmonic damper. Rotate the crankshaft 2
revolutions until the yellow mark on the damper lines up with 0 degrees on
the timing cover. Using the little window on the lower timing cover,
tighten the tensioner locknut. Rotate the crankshaft 1/6 turn until the
white mark aligns with the 0 degree mark. Check the timing marks on the
cams against the marks on the rear timing cover."
