You know I was thinking the same thing about the GTO when I first read about
it.
The qtr mile seemed too long for a V-8 in a car so small??????

My bro had a 2004 Infinit G35 (280HP) and it ran mid 14s.
It doesn't make sense

The GTO is pretty heavy no?  Like 3750 lb or so?  Physically it's a fairly
small car, and the LS1/6 is pretty light...not sure where they are hiding
the lead.
