If you are using this pretty much exclusively for racing, I'd go for the
15W-50 Mobil 1.  This oil has been used for racing for a long time; its a
little thick for street use where it doesn't have a chance to warm up.  As
for the SHO being a close-tolerance engine, well after all it was designed
in 1987, IIRC.  Compared to most of todays high tech designs it isn't
particularly close at all.  If you were really serious and making 500+ HP,
perhaps Redline would be appropriate.  The M-1 will take the heat well; I'd
say its perfect for your use, easy to get, and priced right.  Your oil
pressure will be good.
