My only expertise is with a 3.0 / MTX, but yes the rear tensioner is a PITA. Taking off the intake crossover tube and some of the bracketry for the engine torque limiter thingy should help.

On my 92 most of the steering noise came from the strut mount bushings rubbing on the tops of the shock towers. I got the spacers and new police bushings and all was well.

I've been attempting to correct all of the squeaks and squaks from the
'94, but am not sure exactly where they are all coming from. I believe both
of the engine belts are loose, but I was curious what the best tool/best
method was to tighten them up. I can't seem to figure out how to even
access the rear tensioner without being under the car. Can it be done?

Also, no matter what, the steering squaks when moving the wheel back and
forth. What should I start looking at first?
