Great story, JVO! And thanks for the kind words. My dad passed away long
before I was old enough to drive. We never got a chance to make a real
connection. I am trying my hardest to make a few good memories for Mike &
me. The entire SHO community has given us a great platform to help us
cement our bonds. I am thankful for being a part of this great group.
Our latest "bonding" effort was giving my intake some new color. We just
completed the project yesterday.

Subject: [Shotimes] Happy Father's Day
Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there. I've met some great dads and
kids through this community and conventions. Bob and Mike Bruce, Don, Ken,
and Ethan Mallinson, Andy and Colton Angermeier, and more.
SHO content: One of my best days with my dad was in my 92 SHO. My dad used
to take us to Donnybrooke (now Brainerd) for Trans-Am and Can-Am races.
We'd sit in the back bleachers (near turn 6, I think) and watch Parnelli
Jones, Mark Donohue, and Bruce McLaren carve those corners. Well, a few
years ago the Slowpokes group (slowpokes.org) held a track day at Brainerd.
Dad rode a bunch of hot laps with me in the morning, then drove the car
during the noontime open period. In the afternoon we walked around
remembering. It was my best day ever with my dad. The SHO gave me a chance
to give him that day.
