SDPatt (Scott Patterson) has an excellent write-up on Shoforum for an engine
support cradle to hold that 450lb engine. In typical Pat style, he even has
engineering drawings loaded on his web site. It is made out of 2x4s or 2x6s,
& stout chain, hangs on the shock towers, and cost maybe $25. It's plenty
strong enough, It barely flexed at all when I used it.
..
On the other hand I would never get under an engine or car held up only by
some kind of hydraulic device.
