[Shotimes] Another Question on Swap/ Mods

They want a V8 in their SHOs because they are idiots that don't know any
better. No smile faces....I'm not being facetious.

Yamaha makes EXCELLENT engines. I have had a few Yamaha cycles, as well as
the V6 SHOs, and I firmly believe this.

When they got into the hybrid deal with the Ford short block and
cam-production technique, they got f**cked.

Other than the "sound" of a V8 exhaust, there is no reason to want to put a
3.4 V8 into a SHO.

The V8 SHO engine produces the SAME HP/liter as the 3.2 V6 (do the math).
So, you have a V8 with no more HP than the V6, and it is an engine that
costs a LOT more to maintain and rebuild....IF you can find the parts. DUH!!

If someone wants a V8 in the SHO, look at a 4.6 DOHC out of a Continental.

Ron,
What are you basing that one? The fact that the V6 has less problems 
then the V8 or the fact you don't have to have V6 cams welded or is it 
just the simple fact that you can't easily mate a MTX  to it. Or the 
fact a V6 SHO is faster then a V8 SHO? Another shoforum post everyone 
wants to drop a V8 into a Gen II with a 5 speed but NOBODY is going to 
do it.
