While the intakes are less critical, and therefore have a tighter allowable
tolerance, exhaust valves will burn big time if too tight.  Don't do it;
you'll be sorry.  There are lots of shims to be had; when I did mine I left
them on the tight side of the range, around .28 as I recall.  But don't go
lower than recommended.
