[Shotimes] Valve Adjustment Numbers

Setting the gaps on the tight side of tolerance is fine. It really doesn't
make any real noticeable performance difference from setting them on the
loose end of tolerance. If you are searching for every last 1,000th of a
hp, then it's worthwhile to be concerned over a few thousandths of valve
gap. As for setting the valve tighter than spec, you are getting into a
lesser acceptable area. Since you are setting the gaps with the parts at
ambient temperature, you don't know what those gaps will be at full engine
temperature. If the gap closes as the motor warms up, you risk loosing
compression, burning valves and worst case scenario would be a valve
contacting a piston top.

I would just reset the gaps to within spec and not have anything to worry
about.

Just Curious...

I am not sure if i need a smaller feeler gauge or what but the only one i
can
put in is the .008in one.

Otherwise, if i go a step above it....the feeler wont fit....
This is the gapping i calculated after torquing the cam journals...

Please., everyone give me some input...

>From what i see here....all my clearance are tight like a tiger...
Maybe too tight?

But they are all withing a certain range...

Whats wrong with it being a little tight?
