If it is like the GEN 3 it comes out really easy. Take the top and bottom
pinch bolts out, collapse the column and take it out. A persons physical size
and agility is the biggest obstacle. And I did it in 40 minutes.
BUT there is a big plastic collar (again if like the GEN 3) that is there to
absorb the shock as the column collapses in a collision. This would make
heating the joint up impossible.
Maybe it could be re-crimped with a press though.
