[Shotimes] Quaife install question

I went back and measured the clearance a couple of more times. Got the same results each time. The .035" gap feels rather loose. A
.036" shim is definitely too tight. I received a few replies from various SHO community members (Thanks!). Ultimately I decided
that a .001" - .002" crush isn't the end of the world. It is far better than leaving the setup too loose. Since the one and only
shim I have (.037") will give these results, I went with it. At this point the tranny is completely rebuild with a Quaife, and
drilled & tapped for the new coolant pump and cooler.

With the afternoon free and the weather near perfect I decided to start removing the old tranny from the car. A few hours later and
the engine is hanging by a et of freshly built cradles. Sub frame is laying in the driveway. The old tranny is ready for removal
first thing tomorrow morning. Man this has been a SHO fun and productive day!

Now it's time to spend some quality time with the boss of the household.

I would stick the shim to a block and thin it out using some 1000/1500 grit
wet/dry sandpaper taped to a piece of glass. You will need a micrometer,
but it sounds like you have one.
