They are very nice.  The 540 certainly looks awesome.  I'm starting to
get the idea of this whole key programming business.  It sounds very
strange to have to go to the dealer to change the way the programming
works.

About your waterpump, BMW mentioned that the one in the E90 now uses a
non-belt driven pump, meaning it's an electric pump.  Apparently
useful in eliminating parasitic losses in performance.

I don't have a basis of comparison between the E90 and the E46.  Most
people find the new version a worthy and mostly a better successor. 
There are mixed opinions of the run flats.  Seems that the old guard
dislikes them.  I haven't had the car long enough to have an opinion. 
I think the trick eventually becomes when I have to use the insurance
to replace a damaged wheel or tire, but hopefully that is way on down
the road.

Overall for folks like us that enjory driving sedans that have special
performance and handling attributes, this one hits the mark if you can
overlook the pricetag.
