responses. After looking at it more closely I don't
see any rubber seals where I thought I had before.

I assume the nut on the spring side comes off and the
shaft is pulled out after the throttle plate is
removed. However, removing the throttle plate doesn't
look easy. My machinst thinks the screws were shot
peened after installation to prevent them from backing
out. If that's the case, the ends should be cut off
before unthreading them prevent the shaft's threads
from getting destroyed. Therefore I'm hoping that the
threads are a common pitch/size so I can find
replacement screws if needed.

According to him, the factory butterflies are the same
way. I had him remove the retaining screws. I know
that others just unscrew them but I'm happier knowing
that my threads are 100% ok. Paranoia I guess but it's
a major problem if those things back out.

Any ideas?
