Big difference between methanol and ethanol. Methanol is corrosive and will
stratify with water. Ethanol does not. Ethanol is made from sugar
fermentation and methanol is made form coal, oil or natural gas.
If you have normally don't run a alcohol blended gas you may have had a bit of
water in the tank that is now stratified into a methanol/water mix at the
bottom of the tank.
