Jason:
You and your kind are what make America GREAT!!!

I am so ashamed of the garbage that passes for people in New Orleans!!! It shows what a third world city it is. Shooting and looting!! Just like in any other third world shit hole! I did not hear of this happening when the Tsunami hit and that was a very poor part of the world that was hit with no warning. Everyone in New Orleans was told for several days that this was a MANDATORY evacuation and the storm was a killer! Stealing guns and TV's, yea really essential supplies!! This is supposed to be the most civilized country in the world! But watching the news just makes my blood boil! Now in Houston they are pooping and peeing in the hallways of the Astrodome!!!!

The main road to New Orleans from Houma is under armed guard and you will only be allowed to pass if you are a resident of St. Charles Parish. This is the parish that adjoins Orleans parish where New Orleans is located. The government is trying to stop the gangs of armed blacks roaming New Orleans from jumping the Mississippi river and spreading further. We have a friend that watched from the attic of his home with only a pistol as a group went house to house smashing into any standing houses through the windows and doors. Stealing the guns, booze and electronic items. No word on if he had to shoot or not. I really dont understand why looters are not shot on sight!!! These are people that need to be dead.

Anyway, good news we are headed back "down the bayou"!! I am returning to Houma today from Houston. We have reports of major roof damage to our house but it is still standing and the 2 big trees in the yard did not get knocked down. So I came out pretty good and am very thankful.

Also a HUGE thank you to the SHO Times bunch. I was offered a place to stay and live by several of you guys and gals without even knowing me!!! Truly a superior group!! I am humbled by your generosity!!!

Kind of makes me wonder why precisely it is that we're going over to the gulf when our own people need us so much more... our boat produces 550,000 gallons of pure fresh water every 24 hours, has enough food and medical supplies to take care of a LOT of people, and I know with dead certainty that every man and woman on this boat, all 6000, would gladly work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help as many as possible. We have a squadron of helicopters for rescue missions and supply delivery, we have 4 cargo delivery aircraft that can pack a lot of supplies in them and land... pretty much wherever. I know I'd give up everything I had - my rack, my sleeping bag, my blanket, my tempur-pedic pillow, all my food, my books, my clothes.... This may be a warship but in the end we're about saving lives, not ending them. I don't really put much faith in Christianity; I suppose you could call me agnostic (not atheist!) but I know I pray on a daily basis for the millions and millions of pe!
ople that have lost everything they hold dear, everything they worked so hard to achieve, lost those they love forever.... it's just a bum deal for everybody. It's a shame nature does the things she does. Wish I that we could control it like almost everything else! *sigh*

On the news last night they said the area of destruction was bigger than
England (or Great Britain, can't remember which).
