[Shotimes] I need help

Unfortunately, knowing someone who 'knows' someone won't really help if it's
anything like BMW. I just bought my 540i and had to get keys ($140 each).
They had to fax the title and a copy of my license to the BMW parts depot.
It wasn't just satisfying the local schmuck behind the parts counter.

Ok, I bought a car, Mercedes, and it does not have a title or key for it. It
is broken and I want to find out what it needs to make it drivable but

Mercedes will make a key from the VIN but I have to have the title first. I
can get a title but it will take months and $$ to get it and I don't want to
go through all that to find out the car is shot.

So, what I need is someone who knows someone that works for Mercedes and

get a key made for me.
