[Shotimes] Underhood oil smoke

Automatic or 5 speed? If it is an automatic, my guess is that the trans
puked up ATF and it landed on the manifold. Had you just done some
'spirited' driving?

With either trans it could be the oil pressure sensor. Look down from around
the master cylinder area to directly under the DPFE (if you have one).

Subject: [Shotimes] Underhood oil smoke

As I was pulling into my parking spot after lunch, a huge amount of oil
smoke started billowing out from under my hood. I immediately shut it down
and popped the hood to notice that all of the smoke was coming from the rear
bank of cylinders, some through the intake snakes and some from behind the
snakes by the firewall. Is an oil pressure sensor back there that could have
gone bad all of a sudden? Could my rear valve cover gasket have gone bad
during my short trip to lunch? Has anyone had any similar experiences?
Thanks,
 Peter
