Right, sorry 'bout that (Solara/Avalon - they're all the same to me). I'm
pretty disgusted by Toyotas as of late. All front drive people movers.
Fine, if that's what you want/need, but the last muscular Toyota was the
Supra. It's been downhill from there. The president of Toyota Motor Sales
USA had the crust to say in response to Toyota's departed Supra, the "Solara
is the replacement". (WTF?!)

Although I prefer RWD, some FWD cars do interest me. SHO & Citroen SM come
to mind. And I owned a Fiesta long ago! The Yamaha-bred SHO engine is
distant cousin of the Supra engines. Toyota contracted with Yamaha on their
cylinder head of the 7M-series in-line six (Supra 86-92, Cressida 89-92). I
don't know how much work they did on the 2JZ engines (Supra 93-98, IS300,
GS300). But Yamaha has been leading the way for a long time. Funny, no
dorky cam sprocket issues on the Yota motors like the V8 SHO engine.
Standard pins and bolts. Did I read that was a Ford-spec item?
