Well, thanks to all. I got the alternator installed tonight. It was a
breeze, finding the right tools was the hardest part. Someone seems to like
to scatter my tools from one end of the garage to the next.

Tomorrow, we'll see how the rebuilt unit likes a 7k blast.

Thanks again.
Jack

You can shop around and find a rebuild shop that will save you $15 or
so, but that is about it. Also if memory serves, our local parts plus
chain here in Cincy had them for around $160. But yeah terrible price.

Thanks to all that replied. I got it from here. I've never done an
alternator on a FWD car, sometimes things aren't in the easiest place to

get to, sounds like this is pretty straight forward.

Now... to come to terms with spending $175 on an alternator! I asked
the gal at Autozone if she'd throw in a set of wipers or something,
cushon the blow a little. :) On top of that, $20 in kerosene to warm
the garage up, it's cold here in northern michigan. Why can't these
things happen in the summertime?

Thanks!
Jack
