It's underrated to.  Real world CHP is something of 535-540.  

With headers and a cam they make 600+ right out of the box.

Personally I think Boris Said had the best suggestion during one of the Bud Shoot-out's a couple of years ago.  Take the plates off them at Daytona and make them use the bus-stop on the backstretch like they do in the Rolex 24 hr races.  That would separate the drivers (the real ones) from the monkey's holding the stupid things wide open all day and lap times would probably be about the same.
