Mike;
It is possible it is the fuel pump.
My 89 starting doing just that, severe missing at 25-40% throttle, under
2700rpm. Mostly cold, not completely warmed up. New pump & it ran great.
Assuming you checked more common items like plug well oil, plug gaps, old
wires, etc.
Wide plug gaps (60k mi) had same symptom.
Leanest part of the fuel calibration.
