[Shotimes] Intermittent stalling after battery replacement?

Put in a new battery in my 92 MTX on Friday. Today on the way to work (<5
min drive this week) the car turned off and then back on again all in about
a quarter of a second. Then it did it again on the way home, and at the
next stop light, it cut out completely and left me with a bright CE light.
The car cranked over fine, but it didn't start. I don't recollect if the CE
light was on while cranking, however. I pulled the codes when I got home
and had a 542 and a 538. I let the car run for about 5 minutes to see if
it would stall again, but nothing. After reading about battery cable
problems, I tried to wiggle both the pos and neg cables, and then even got
under the car and wiggled the positive cable where it comes down to the
starter to no avail. Also, the SHotimes FAQ mentions a smaller wire for the
computer going into the positive connector, but my car has always had just
has one thick wire going down to the starter. Any ideas? Crankshaft sensor?
How much is the sensor and how many hours labor should I expect to pay?
