Go to Start -> Run. In the Run field type (without quotes) "control
userpasswords2". Check the box that says Users Must Enter a Password to Use
This Computer.

Pretty sure that works in home.

He already tried the welcome screen checkbox. Didn't work.

Mike
Try using the Ctrl-Alt-Del login. Control Panel-User
Accounts-Change the Way Users Log on and Off.

Do not use the Welcome Screen to use the Ctrl-Alt-Del
method. Although if you wanted to use the welcome
screen instead, check it here and it should come up
every time you boot up.

Let me know if that works. If you have a "classic
view" of control panel's user account setup, the
options might appear a little differently. You can
probably also access and change these settings by
right clicking my computer and going to manage.
However, the Control Panel method is probably the
easiest way.

Let me know how this works.
