After a long love affair with my 89 SHO, and many, many grins, the time has come to part with her and get into a 21st century ride. I have to say the SHO is a hard act to follow, even after nearly 17 years, but alas, the harsh northern clime of Ontario has finally caught up with her. Guess that's what you get when you drive your car all year long, with salty roads. With metal body side molding inserts now rusting badly (one of the few stupid things designed in the car) , and some scabs showing up elsewhere, it's time to say good bye. Car is still running strong with over 160K miles on it.

So what did I pick to replace the Yammahammer you ask? A 2005 Nissan Altima SE-R. 260HP, 251 Ft./lbs of torque, 18" wheels and a bunch of other goodies that made me feel good about the transition. Drove a 2006 Mazda 6 GT and found it to be wanting vs. the peformance of the SE-R, though it was a very nice looking car inside and out......and handled pretty nice. The SE-R has the nice pull like the show and shifts smoothly (6 speed). Also handles just as well. Definitely has some of the attitude of the early SHO's and then some. Heated seats too.....woohoo!

Don't know that I'll find as good a group of helpful and fun people as on this list, but maybe I can take some of that me with me over to an SE-R board. :-)

Anyways, have enjoyed my time here as a fellow SHO enthusiast, learning and sharing with others here over the years. Best wishes to all.
