New wires........sort of new plugs........old/original DIS
module????........

I vote for DIS module.  Sounds exactly like the symptoms my '91 had 8 yrs
ago.  Four screws and 2 electrcial connectors....easy as pie.  Just make
sure you get some thermal heat sink compound from your local computer store.
