Milder single malts

If you want a gentler intro to a decent single malt, try something like
Glenkinchie. It is a Lowlands malt and they tend to be much lighter and
more subtle (i.e., not as peaty or fiery as some of the Highlands or
Islays), and this whiskey has been used for a number of years as a
component of blends such as Dimple Haig. We had Glenkinchie in a taste
session a few years ago, and it was fascinating to see that those folks who
hadn't tried single malts before all thought this one was the best.

P.S. Unfortunately the MG needs all available firepower for ignition so may
have to resort to a couple of gallons of the less subtle (and less
expensive) stuff for lift-off.
