[Spits] Electric Fan Power

My 76 TR7 VE fixed head coupe does exactly that.  The fans will run  for a 
couple of minutes after turning off the ignition on a hot day. I thought  this 
was by design but I don't know for sure? I don't believe my TR8 ever  did this? 
I have not rewired either. It is rather annoying for the  fans are fairly 
loud.
