[Spridgets] Huh???

Even the Library of Congress says Benz(referring to Cugnot as a military
vehicle), not the US.  Another site said the Benz was the first automobile,
yet the Cugnot was the first auto crash!?

Benz with the 1st internal combustion engine in 1885 

First mass produced vehicle, the Curved Dash Oldsmobile built by Ransome
Olds in 1901 with a production total for the year of 425 cars.
