[Spridgets] Horn trouble

Norbert,
The purple wire is always hot, at the horn, you should see 12VDC from
the purple to the chassis.
The purple/black wire is switched ground. It comes from the steering
column and the horn button grounds it to make the horn work.

If you are seeing power at the purple, you should be able to connect
it to one side of a horn and ground the other terminal; if the horn is
working, it should make noise. If it does not make noise, try
loosening the locknut on the top of the horn, turning the screw in one
turn and then back to the starting point and locking the nut again.
This cleans the internal connection and frequently brings it back to
life.

If you do not see power from ground to purple, check the fuse (and the
fuse box) at the position that has a purple wire coming from it.

If the rest works, but the horn button does not, check the commutator
connection under the steering wheel (fun) as well as the "pencil" that
connects it to the horn push.

Be aware that one of the horns is the high note and the other is the
low note. Using just the high makes it virtually impossible for anyone
to be offended that you honked at them ;-)

Also be aware that they are supposed to be attached to the brackets
with a special set of shouldered plastic washers to isolate them from
earth. If this is not done, they go off continuously.
