[Spridgets] Can this fuel pump be bad?

David nailed all the primary reasons. Start with the suction side and
follow the flow towards the carbs. Piece of hose and a gas can on the
suction side narrows it quickly as to which side of the pump (input versus
output) is the problem (provided you have it wired correct) J

Linda,
Just buy the correct pump and be done with it. I'm sure you can get it from
Ed, Moss, Vick-Brit, etc. They run about $135, and it will last you for 20
years.

The other problems that could contribute to fuel delivery problems:
Clogged screen in the tank
Clogged line in the tank
Pin hole in the line in the tank above the fuel level
Pin hole in the line between the tank and the pump
Bad ground to the fuel pump
Loose electrical connection at the pump
Wrong fuel cap
