[Spridgets] Can this fuel pump be bad?

But, you still don't know if the fuel pickup is clogged.

I would run one more test. Attach a hose to the pump intake. Drop the 
end of the hose in a can of gas, and see if it pumps that gas for more 
than 5 minutes. You can run a hose from the pump outlet  back to the 
supply. This will definitively tell you whether the pump is working.

It's entirely possible that after this many years, the diaphragm has 
either gotten too stiff, or punctured. That was the problem with my 
pump. I went to the facet as a quick repair and have been pretty 
satisfied since then.
