Echo-ing the sentiments expressed here, Paul A. was a true gentleman, a true original, and in my book a true genius. I will forever use his expression "it only goes one way". This was his way of saying "wow, that's totally obvious to me and I can't believe you're wrestling with it for hours, but I'll be my usual gentlemanly self about it." Like Frank, I met Paul near Chicago one weekend when Frank came out to visit to help all of us beat the winter blues. Paul had been flown in by a Morris Minor owner to work on a car in January. He was that good. I met him again at the Buster Cluster and his picture graces the Practical Classics article front page on the subject.

What I think I will most miss are the phone calls I could get out of the blue with a question about a race part or a concept for something new and different, and the hours of discussions that would ensue. His volunteer work and restoration of old pipe organs were often where the conversations went. As much as LBCs, these were his passions.

We have lost a true giant in our hobby. Indeed Paul, it only goes one way.

Ron
