Tony,
  Don't take my word on this, but I have some recollection that the piece at 
the end (that is actuated when you pull the lever) where the bolts are, that 
piece is brazed in, and that is how it gets released.   Now, be darn sure 
you confirm this because as I said it is a "recollection."
