Hi Jim:

If you are really running 12V direct to your gauges, the temperature gauge
should have been reading high all these years.B When your car warms up, does
the temp stabilize around your thermostat temperature?B If everything is
working right it should be.B

If you read the voltage right at the gauge, what do you read?B Battery
voltage?B Something lower?B It should be a pulsating signal that will drive
a DC meter nuts.

Who is nearby for you?B Gary?B B Could you compare it to another car?

Stu

Subject: [Tigers] missing Instrument Stabilizer

Hello,
B
After spending 5 hours over three evenings under the dashboard, I have B
found there is no, I repeat, no instrument stabilizer in my car. It appears
that B the gauges (fuel and temp) were wired to 12 volts instead of the 10
from
the B I.S.
B
Tod Brown sent me pictures so I could identify it but no luck. Now B he is
sending me one from his stash.
B
Now, exactly how do I hook up the I.S.? I repeat, there is not one on the B
car though there are some strange yellow wires rolling around. Where B did
the original wires hook up to electrically and physically. What were the
B wire
colors? Does it wire back to the fuse block or pick up under the B dash? B
The shop manual is no help here. It simply notes that the B I.S. is behind the
dash and that's it.
B
I've had the car for 36 years. This could have happened at a number of B
shops I've done business with, but my guess is that it was early in its B life
B
Only you fellows will know this stuff. This data is gone from B print..
B
Please help.
B
Jim Armstrong
