[Tigers] Resto question

I replaced the vinyl on my '64 Alpine's dash and encountered a problem
that could apply
here.

The replacement vinyl that I used was thicker than the original vinyl,
which caused the
cubby box bakelite surround and cubby box to fit improperly.

Specifically, the surround has prongs that extend through the vinyl and
then through the dash behind the vinyl.

The cubby box has tabs that fit over the prongs and are then secured in
place with press-on clips.

Thicker vinyl takes up the spare length of the prongs, leaving almost no
room for the clips to fit.

I'd recommend keeping the original vinyl if it cleans up Ok, but if
replaced, use very thin vinyl.

The early Tiger vinyl dash is a very cool feature that sets those Tigers
apart, and is certainly worrth the effort to retain.
