About 5-7 should be good.  Any more and the seat will leak and flood.  4
would be better suited to side draft carbs - you may run out of fuel at WOT
after a few seconds.  If you don't suffer from that, just keep that one.
The Carter pumps are pretty reliable.  Better than holley.
