[TR] Driving Gloves

I use the thinnest of thin leather gloves - black or brown and they must
be lined throughout with silk. You can dress them 'up' or 'down' depending on
the occasion - e.g. wearing a 'tweed' style hat or cap when in the country, or
a bowler when in town! Keeping up appearances is so important these days and
giving the Butler a pair of Chinese cheapos marks one out immediately as
rather inferior. You want real leather and real silk - cool in summer, warm
in winter. IMHO any kind of faux leather or faux silk will be irritating from
the outset and the string back ones always bring my hands out in a rash, apart
from conveying the 'boy racer' image which just isn't my style :)
