[TR] TR3 Steering cam/worm

I am rebuilding a small-mouth TR3 with a one-piece steering column.  The cam
/ worm is in pretty bad shape. However, I do have the lower half of a
two-piece column and that worm looks to be in good condition.

 

Question:  is it possible to re-use the worm, ie. transfer it from the short
to the long column ?
