 Investment advisors say that is the way to buy stocks.  When the price goes up you buy fewer shares and when the price goes down you buy more.
This would work for gas if you have a sufficiently large tank.  Or were flexible in you driving requirements.
The good news is I have yet to see any lines at the pumps.
